Issue Details

I would like to improve the accuracy of my measurements with NI-DMM. Are there any recommendations for the configuration of the acquisition that would help?

Solution

Increasing the Aperture Time and Number of Averages and enabling Auto Zero and ADC Calibration usually help to get better results on accuracy.

For information on how to modify these settings, please refer to Configuring Measurement Timing for Aperture Time and Number of Averages and to Configuring ADC Calibration and Configuring Auto Zero accordingly.

Additional Information

Keep in mind that the device will have a limitation on the accuracy that can be achieved, and the modifcations recommended above will also result in a reduced sampling speed. To know what accuracy can be expected for the specific configuration and card in your setup, please refer to the Calculating Accuracy for DMMs document.
