Using 9234 with Triaxial MEMS Accelerometer

Issue Details

I have a Triaxial MEMS DC Accelerometer and I want to use it with the NI 9234. Is this the right module to use?

Solution

  • Check the voltage range to see if your sensor fits in the voltage range of the NI 9234.
  • Check to see what kind of resolution the sensor needs and see if the NI 9234 satisfies the requirement.
  • Check what kind of excitation your sensor requires. The NI 9234 provides constant current excitation. If your sensor requires constant voltage excitation, it cannot be powered by the NI 9234.
  • If you can provide excitation from a different device, the NI 9234 can still read the outputs of your Triaxial MEMS Accelerometer and you can still utilize all of the signal conditioning circuitry in the NI 9234.
