Issue Details

I am migrating an application from an older Windows version to Windows 7, 8 or 10. The executable worked on my previous LabVIEW + Windows version, but now throws Error 43: LabVIEW Operation cancelled by user.

Solution

If your LabVIEW application ever opens a Windows file dialog box, to save or select a file to use, your executable is potentially being blocked by Windows compatibility mode. You can check if you are using compatibility mode by right-clicking on your your executable short-cut and going to Properties>>Compatibility.

Certain Compatibility settings, such as the color converting setting (run in 256 colors), result in certain LabVIEW actions being blocked by Windows. Turning off all Compatibility settings will resolve this issue.
