NI Software Install Error: Bad Image

Issue Details

I am trying to install NI software. I downloaded the full version from the NI website and it is not working. A message box says "Bad Image" and tells me that error status is 0xc0000020. I get this error message when I try to open the already-downloaded file:

I also get an error when I try to download the software again from the NI website and install it. It simply says that the specified folder does not contain the correct volume:

What can I do to make this installation work so that I can use my software?

Solution

Possibly, the software you downloaded has become corrupted. In order for you to continue with your installation, you will need to repair the software according to the steps in the KB: Uninstall or Repair National Instruments Software or Drivers in Windows
Make sure your firewall settings are not interfering with your download.
Double check that your software version is compatible with your operating system.
If the uninstallation or repair does not work, try force reinstalling your NI software with the steps described this article Fix Corrupt or Non-Working NI Software with Force Reinstall
If force reinstall does not work, try offline installation of your NI Software by downloading the offline installer as describe in this KB: Downloading Individual Offline Installers for NI Software
