Can't Open NI Scope Soft Front Panel

Issue Details

I cannot open the NI Scope soft front panel. When I try to, my computer either does nothing or a pop-up flashes on the screen and immediately closes before I can do anything. How do I fix this?

Solution

This behavior can occur when the Windows Path environment variable doesn't contain the locations of the underlying NI-SCOPE driver components. To fix this:
  1. Open the Windows Advanced system settings window. 
    • On Windows 8 or Windows 10, open the Start menu, click System, and click Advanced system settings on the left side of the Control Panel window
    • On Windows 7, open the Start menu, right-click on Computer, select Properties, and click Advanced system settings on the left side of the Control Panel window
  2. Click Environment Variables at the bottom of the System Properties window
  3. In the System variables entry, scroll down to the Path variable entry and click Edit
  4. In the Variable value field, check to see if the filepath C:\Program Files\IVI Foundation\IVI\bin is present. If it is not, add it, being sure to separate filepaths with a semicolon. If you have a 64-bit OS, there should also be an entry for C:\Program Files (x86)\IVI Foundation\IVI\bin​.
