Solution
The section 'Writing and Reading TDMS Files with Third-Party Programming Software' from the
NI TDMS File Format document addresses multiple tools recommended by NI to read and write to TDM/TDMS files using third-party software. These consist of the TDM C DLL the
OpenOffice.org Calc and
MATLAB TDM Example User Guide.
In addition to those, it is possible to interface with TDM/TDMS files through
TDM Excel Add-In Tool for Microsoft Excel User Guide and Notepad. In DIAdem 2018 and later, metadata is compressed by default to minimize the file size. To interface with TDM/TDMS files developed in those DIAdem versions using Notepad, make sure TDM/TDMS files metadata is not being compressed. Metadata compression settings can be found in
DIAdem Settings: NAVIGATOR dialog box .
