Issue Details

I need to generate a clock signal with fine frequency resolution and route it out of my PXIe-6674T but I'm getting one of the following errors:

Error -1074118653: Driver Status: (Hex 0xBFFA4003) This operation requires a feature that is not supported.

Error -1073807346 occurred at an unidentified location
Possible reason(s):
VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF000E) The given session or object reference is invalid.

Solution

The PXIe-6674T supports clock generation via direct digital synthesis (DDS) that grants fine frequency resolution.

Our Generate DDS Clock and Route.vi shipping example will generate clocks using DDS and can be found within the NI Example Finder at the following location:

Hardware Input and Output >> Timing and Synchronization >> Signal-based

Additional Information

To read more about DDS capabilities with the PXIe-6674T timing card, read page 14 of the PXIe-6674T User Manual.
