No Option to Launch NI-XNET Bus Monitor in NI-MAX

Issue Details

  • I have installed NI-XNET Runtime but do not see the option to launch the Bus Monitor in NI-MAX. In addition, I do not find the Bus Monitor when I search for it on my computer. How do I access the Bus Monitor?
  • I've created an application that uses a CAN device and deployed it to another machine. I'm trying to open Bus Monitor in NI MAX but don't see the option for it. How to I open Bus Monitor?

Solution

NI-XNET Runtime does not include the Bus Monitor. To access the Bus Monitor and be able to program with NI-XNET, you will need to install NI-XNET, not just the Runtime version of the driver.
