NI Software Missing Installation Files Error

Issue Details

When installing LabVIEW or other NI software, the installation fails because it says it is missing files and shows the following error

Error: Missing installation files​​​​


How can I fix this?

Solution

  • If using web installer:
    • Be sure to fully extract the compressed file to its preferred location (usually C:\National Instruments Downloads\<Package Name>). Do not try to install from a compressed folder (e.g. .zip folder).
    • Try installing from the physical media (USB, CD, etc.) if web installer doesn't work. 
  • If you are using physical media, try downloading and installing from the web installer with firewalls and antivirus turned off. This will make sure no important files are stripped out by those programs. 
  • If you are trying to install a LabVIEW installer that you built using Application Builder, try rebuilding the installer. 

Additional Information

Verify you can install with the same files on a different computer. If you can, then there could be an issue with the computer itself.
