Can I Replace the Power Supply for My PXI Chassis Without Voiding the Warranty?

Issue Details

I'm troubleshooting power issues with my PXI chassis and I would like to switch out the power supply with a functioning power supply from another chassis. 

Which chassis can I do this with without voiding my warranty?


Some chassis have removable power supplies. You can safely switch out the power supplies on these chassis without voiding the warranty. These chassis and the links to their power supply guides are listed below:

If your chassis is not listed above, you can check the user manual for your chassis and see if it has replacement procedures. Otherwise, the power supply is riveted into place and the warranty will be voided if the customer removes the power supply. 

If you are looking for the replacement part number you can find this by following these steps:
  1. Go to the product page.
  2. Click View Product Details.
  3. Click View Accessories.
  4. You can then scroll down to optional accessories, and you will see the part number for the spare power supply and fan shuttle.
You can then add this to your cart by:
  1. Go to
  2. Click on your cart.
  3. Enter the part number and click Add to Cart.
  4. You should now see the power supply replacement in your cart.
