Unable to Activate NI Software Using Concurrent Unmanaged Network Licenses in NI VLM

Issue Details

My company uses Concurrent Unmanaged licenses through NI Volume License Manager. In NI License Manager on the client machines under the Network Licenses tab, I can connect to the server and see the Concurrent Unmanaged licenses, but they remain grey. When I go to Product Summary, my software still shows up as Evaluation.
 


How do I get access to my company's Concurrent Unmanaged licenses to activate my NI Software?

Solution

Even though users should have access to Concurrent Unmanaged licenses, the activation status under the Network Licenses tab in the NI License Manager does not change from the default grey to green. This is purely a cosmetic issue and should not prohibit your access to the Concurrent Unmanaged license.

  1. Open the software you're trying to access.
  2. To verify that you are pulling a license from the server, open NI License Manager and go to the Network Licenses tab.
  3. Click the lowercase blue i button on the right end of the software you're trying to access.
  4. This will open the Network Checkouts list. Verify that your computer or user credentials are on this list.
