Issue Details

The input channels in my digital I/O module are appearing alphabetical order rather than physical channel order when i read them in LabVIEW. Can I change the order so that it uses the physical channel order instead? I am using my cRIO in Scan Mode.

Solution

When operating in Scan Engine mode the variables order alphabetically and other ordering methods are not available. Change the names of the channels by adding a prefix so that they appear in the desired order.

For example, name the channels: 'DI01 <name>', 'DI02 <name>', etc.

Additional Information

Scan Engine has been built upon user-defined I/O variables, which behave similiarly to network-pusblished shared variables. Based on this architecture, the physical channel becomes less important that the user-defined name, as the user-made name defines the variable’s path.
