Issue Details

I am using an NI-9237 module in a 1-slot USB cDAQ-9171 chassis connected to my laptop. I am worried the cDAQ chassis isn't going to receive enough power when the laptop battery is low to perform my data acquisition tasks. Is there a way I can externally power the chassis, possibly through the module?

USB is a standard communication protocol with specific power requirements. The laptop will provide the cDAQ chassis with the same amount of power regardless of whether the battery is low not, unless of course, the laptop completely dies.

There is no way to externally power this device, but as explained above, the device will receive enough power through the laptop to operate as intended.

Additional Information

The NI-9237 module is able to be externally powered for the purpose of providing an excitation voltage for certain measurements, but this external power cannot be routed to the chassis to power it.
