Issue Details

I built a LabVIEW application (EXE) or LabVIEW library (lvlib) that I would like to generate licenses for when I distribute it. How can I do this?

Solution

To help you determine what you need for your specific application, the LabVIEW Tools Network Developer Center has the following document: Choosing the Correct Licensing Method in LabVIEW Third Party Licensing & Activation Toolkit and NI License Manager.

Options here include the NI License Manager Third-Party SDK, which extends NI's own licensing technology to 3rd party products, and provides the same activation experience as NI software. The SDK features a run-time API for licensing of applications and tools to bind a LabVIEW library to a license file for LabVIEW-based add-ons. A .NET version is also available for licensing non-LabVIEW code. This works for products to be sold through NI.

Alternatively, you can use the Third-Party Licensing and Activation Toolkit, which provides functionality to license both applications and add-ons that you do not plan to sell through NI.

Additional Information

These add-ons are supported through the LabVIEW Tools Network Developer Center, please post any questions you have on this forum.
