Issue Details

I would like to sample a digital signal and represent it using an analog output. What Analog Output (AO) update rate is necessary to accurately represent a square wave using an AO?

Solution

In order to correctly represent a square wave using an analog output, it is important to make sure that you capture the frequency of the source signal as well as the signal's 5th and 7th harmonics. A general rule of thumb is to make sure that your update rate is at least 10x greater than the frequency of the source signal.

Additional Information

This square wave representation is distinct from digital to analog conversion.
