Issue Details

How do I set up the individual modules for my vector signal generator(VSG) or vector signal analyzer(VSA) to use as one RF device?

Solution

Firstly, ensure that you have a compatible version of NI-RFSG or NI-RFSA installed on the machine.  The driver readme files contain information regarding supported hardware, OS's, development environments, etc.  If you have installed a version of the driver which is not completely supported, you may not be able to configure the devices in MAX.

After ensuring driver compatibility, you must create a MAX association between the hardware modules to control them as a single RF device before you can program the device.

Additional Information

The getting started guide for either your vector signal generator or vector signal analyzer will have detailed instructions on how to configure your device in MAX.

If you computer has FIPS encryption enabled, it may not be able to run NI services which the driver uses to be able to configure the device.  If you do not see the configuration options in MAX, please ensure that FIPS is disabled in your Group Policy Settings.
