Issue Details

I want to use multiple counters of the NI-9361 in DIAdem with the DAC (Data Acquisition) bundle. How can I do so?

Using more than one counter of the NI-9361 is possible with DIAdem 2017 and later.
In order to do so follow these steps:
  1. Create global virtual channels in MAX
  2. Select NI DAQmx Driver in the Driver Input palette in DIAdem DAC and place the node
  3. Double click the NI DAQmx Driver node to configure it
  4. Add all necessary global virtual channels by double clicking them in the Available Signals section

DIAdem automatically combines all global virtual channels accessing counters of the NI-9361 into one task.
In DIAdem versions prior to DIAdem 2017 only one counter can be accessed.

Additional Information

In order to acquire Data from NI devices it is necessary to create global virtual channels. If it is necessary to use more than one counter of a module it is not possible to combine them into one global virtual channel but into a task
However in DIAdem DAC tasks can not be added as an input and multiple counters can not be used. The issue is, that only one task is allowed per each NI-9361 module.
This resulted in errors because DIAdem DAC used to create a new task for each global virtual channel that uses a counter.
