Issue Details

I have installed Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module and confirmed that it is present in NI License Manager. However, when I launch LabVIEW I am missing functionality, such as the Modbus palette. When I try to open a VI which uses LabVIEW DSC functions already, I receive a warning message that says it is missing support or drivers. For example:

Missing NI Module, Toolkit, or Driver (1 warning)

How can I use or restore the missing LabVIEW DSC functionality?

Solution

You should first ensure that the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module is present and activated. Please note that having only the DSC Run-Time version will not allow you the acces to the palettes as it is for deployment purpose only.
To check if the full DSC Module is present and activated, you need to:
  • Checking the module activation status in NI License Manager. The LabVIEW DSC Palettes will not show up unless the module is activated.
  • Checking for the presence of the module in NI MAX under the Software dropdown to confirm the software is installed on the system.
  • Looking on the Help >> About LabVIEW... screen for the LabVIEW DSC icon. If this does not show up but LabVIEW DSC appears in NI MAX, you may have installed LabVIEW after the LabVIEW DSC Module. Make sure you follow the Installation Order for Multiple NI Software Products.
  • On the same About LabVIEW screen, ensure that you are in 32-bit LabVIEW. The LabVIEW DSC Module is not supported in the 64-bit version of LabVIEW.

Additional Information

DSC module is supported only for the 32-bit version of LabVIEW. Note that LabVIEW and LabVIEW DSC 32-bit can run with no problems when using a 64-bit Operating System. Refer to the official NI documentation for your version of LabVIEW DSC and Windows for a more detailed breakdown of Operating System and LabVIEW Versions which are supported.
