Error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001D) When I View My PXI VISA Test Panel

Issue Details

I have identified my PXI chassis in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). When I select Open VISA Test Panel I am presented with the following warning:
 
WARNING: One or more errors have been detected. Please check the View Attributes tab for more information.​

I navigate to the View Attributes tab, I am presented with the following error (0xBFFF001D): 
 
Error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001D) The specified attribute is not defined or supported by the referenced resource.

Solution

This error is normal and will not have any effect on your serial communications. The warning referenced in the VISA Test Panel is a general warning alerting you of the Timeout error in the View Attributes tab. 

The error (0xBFFF001D) referenced in the VISA Test Panel is saying that Timeout is being set to an invalid value. In this instance, we can ignore the error since for many VISA resources a timeout can be set, but on the PXI backplane it does not actually exist as an option. Therefore, this attribute will always be shown as an error, even though it has no affect on the VISA sessions within a LabVIEW application.
