Remote Connection Through VNC

Issue Details

I have a cDAQ controller installed with windows embedded and am trying to connect via VNC as well as using a monitor that isn't plugged in on startup

If the monitor is connected when I start the cDAQ, VNC works properly

If the monitor isn't connected when I start the cDAQ, I'm not able to get any images to show through VNC

If I disable this driver we can use VNC, but the monitor works only if it is plugged in before startup

Is there an known issue with VNC and my controller?

Solution

This is a known issue with VNC and Intel's display drivers
There is no known solution if you need to use VNC and use a monitor that is not connected at startup
Our options are the following
1. Use the default Intel driver to handle using a monitor not plugged in during startup and u se Windows Remote Desktop Connection or similar application instead
2. Use the windows driver to handle use with VNC by uninstalling the Intel driver and leave a monitor plugged in at startup
Additionally, we can also emulate a monitor being plugged in using a VGA Monitor Dummy Plug
