I am using a component from the Master database and the pin numbers for this part are not shown on the schematic.

Show the component pin numbers for one instance
If you only want to show the component pin numbers for one instance, double-click the part to open the properties dialog box. Next, click the Display tab and then click the Use component-specific visibility settings radio button, now check the Show footprint pin names checkbox

Show the component pin numbers every time
If you want to show the pin number for this part every time you place it on the schematic, you have to show the pin number in the symbol editor and save the component to your User or Corporate database. The following steps show how to turn on the pin number and save the changes to the database:
  1. Place the component on the work area
  2. Double-click it then click the Edit Component in DB button
  3. Select the Symbol tab then click the Edit button to open the Symbol Editor
  4. On the spreadsheet view scroll to the right until you see the Footprint Pins column
  5. Under the Footprint pins column, change the setting to Visible for each pin
  6. You should see the number sign (#) appearing on the symbol, this is the pin number location. You do not need to change # sign to the actual pin number, Multisim have this information from the footprint mapping table and it will insert the pin number for you
  7. Once you are happy with the pin number location, from the menu select File»Close to exit the symbol editor
  8. Click the OK button
  9. Select the location where you want to save this part in your User or Corporate database
