Issue Details

I am using a USB-TC01 device but cannot successfully create a task for data acquisition. If I configure a task in NI MAX and execute, the program hangs indefinitely. I also cannot run a successful self-test of the device.

Solution

This is a known issue with USB-TC01 devices with certain USB controllers. National Instruments has seen this issue with Renesas, Fresco Logic, and ASMEdia USB controllers though other controllers may also be affected.

When available, try other USB ports on your computer and test functionality.

If the problem persists, try updating your USB controller's driver.
  1. Open Device Manager by going to Start»Control Panel»System and Security»System and click Device Manager.
  2. Find the heading titled Universal Serial Bus controllers and expand it.
  3. Look for the USB 3.0 Controller that your device is plugged into, right click it, and select Properties.
  4. Note the name of the Manufacturer under the General tab:

  1. Once you know the manufacturer of the USB 3.0 Host Controller, download the latest driver for your host controller from the manufacturer's website
