Software Shows as Licensed in NILM but Opens in Evaluation Mode When Connected to VLM

Issue Details

I am using a volume license to activate my software but some NI software opens in evaluation mode even though it says that it is licensed in NI License Manager (NILM).  The computer is connected to the server and all of my other software works fine.

How can I activate it?


There are a couple of things to check when experiencing this issue:
  • If you are using a User-based license, make sure no one else is using your login credentials on another computer.  This will pull the license seat away from your computer, making the software open in evaluation while still showing as licensed in NI License Manager.
  • Make sure the computer has a stable connection to the network that the server is running on and disable firewalls if possible.

Additional Information

If you are using a User-based license and you have many computers with the same user name or if there is an issue with the network connection or firewalls are preventing a stable connection, you can generate a disconnected license for the computer as a workaround.
