Make sure that Visual Studio was installed before Measurement Studio.
Check compatibility between versions of Visual Studio and Measrement Studio.
Check that you have the NationalInstruments.MeasuremekntStudio.VS2019.vsix in the following directory C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Measurement Studio\VS2019. If is there double click it and start the installation of the extension.
If you have Measurement Studio from a CD of the Multi IDE Bundle, and you are using Visual Studio 2019, it is recommended to download Measurement Studio directly from our website or NI Package Manager to make sure it contains the last patches to work with Visual Studio 2019.
If the issue is not related to the steps above, try the following:
1. In Visual Studio go to Extensions >> Manage Extensions >> click in Change your Settings for Extensions (in the lower left corner) >> Environment >> Extensions.
2. Check the option "Allow synchronous autoload of extensions (Not recommended. requires restarting Microsoft Visual Studio)".
3. Then click OK and close Visual Studio.
4. Run Visual Studio as Administrator to make sure the changes will apply.
Confirm if there is any antivirus software that could be blocking Measurement Studio. One way to check this is with a dump file, as explained here: Obtaining a WinDbg Dump File to Troubleshoot Crashes in National Instruments Software .
