Error -18351 When Using IVI Step Types in TestStand

Issue Details

When running a sequence file that uses IVI Step Types I get the following error:

The type library information for 'TestStand Ivi Step Types' was not found.
Ensure that the server is registered on the computer.

Error Code: -18351, An error occurred reading an ActiveX Automation server type library.

Solution

This error happens because the IVI Step Types are not installed in TestStand. TestStand 2019 and later versions do not include the IVI Step Types in the main installer.

Additional Information

IVI steps are not supported in TestStand 64-bit.
