Issue Details

The cFP-180x Quick Start Guide mentions that I can use the 180x as a Modbus device. However, I cannot find the documentation describing how to do this. Where is it?

Solution

Modbus documentation for the cFP-180x controllers is not installed with the FieldPoint driver. You must install the cFP-180x Firmware Revision 6.03 or later as well.  Once you install the firmware revision, the cFP-180x controllers can act as a Modbus slave for serial and Ethernet communication. Documentation describing this process is located here after installation:
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\FieldPoint\documentation\Online Help\FPModbus.chm
Alternatively, you can download the FPModbus.chm from the Attachment below.

Note: If the chm file is blank when you open it, you have to right click on the chm file and select Properties>> Unblock

Additional Information

You can use either the Modbus I/O Server support for shared variables in the LabVIEW Real-Time and DSC modules or the LabVIEW Modbus Library VI's to communicated with the cFP-180x.
