Issue Details

I want to do particle analysis on my RGB image, but the Particle Analysis function in NI Vision software is limited to binary images. How can I achieve this functionality?

Solution

The Particle Analysis function is limited to binary images, but you can convert your RGB image to binary so that the function can be used. This is done by first inserting a Color Threshold step or function. This function applies a threshold to the three planes of the RGB image, enabling you to focus your image on an item or items of a specific color. The Color Threshold step will output an 8-bit image that can then be used for Particle Analysis.
