Cannot Open, Create or Edit DAQmx Tasks in NI MAX

Issue Details

  • I imported an NI MAX configuration file into NI MAX, and the DAQmx tasks show up listed within the folder named NI-DAQmx Task , but they don't seem to work.
  • I cannot open or edit DAQmx tasks in NI MAX.
  • When I attempt to create a DAQmx Task in NI MAX, the "Create New..." window shows up blank. 
 
  • The following images show behaviors that in some situations might occur in NI MAX when trying to create, view or edit DAQmx tasks. 
 








 

Solution

This error is caused because DAQmx was installed incorrectly in the computer, or it became corrupted at some point.
In order to solve this problem,  perform a force reinstall of your DAQmx driver.  The steps to perform a forced reinstall are detailed on this article: Force Reinstall Non-Working or Corrupt NI Software.
