Issue Details

I inserted an XNET interface C series module on a CompactRIO (cRIO). I connected to the cRIO from my LabVIEW Project, but the XNET resource dropdown for selecting the interface only shows "Target disconnected".

I am positive that the cRIO is connected. How do I fix this issue?

Solution

In order to fix this issue please follow the steps described below:
  • Verify you can see the XNET C series module in NI MAX

  • Verify the XNET driver match the same specific version between your Host PC and the cRIO device.
    • You can check the XNET version installed in the cRIO device in NI MAX >> Remote Devices >> Software

  • You can check the XNET version installed in the Host PC in NI MAX >> My System >> Software
    • In case you cannot see the XNET driver in NI MAX for your host PC, try using NI Package Manager,in the Installed Tab.

Additional Information

Newer versions of XNET include the functionality to avoid the need of compiling a blank VI to use the XNET C series modules with certain cRIO models. This functionality requires to update the firmware in the C series module.
