Issue Details

  • I was using calculator button in DIAdem but it has stopped working - when I left click on the calculator button it does not respond or launch. Why is the button unresponsive?
  • In DIAdem, I am missing the calculator button. How do  I get this button to appear in DIAdem?

DIAdem Versions 2017 and newer

In some cases, the calculator is displayed in an area that is not shown by the currently used monitor.

The last position of the calculator GUI is saved and reused when opening the calculator. If the monitor was changed then it could happen that the calculator cannot be seen. To resolve the issue you can do the following:

  1. Close DIAdem
  2. Open the path %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\National Instruments\DIAdem in Windows Explorer and search there for the folder related to the used DIAdem version. For example: If you use DIAdem 2020 you will find there a folder with the name 2020
  3. Inside this folder, you will find a file called Desktop.TFS
  4. Open the file and change there the two numbers in the first line to define the x- and y- coordinate where the calculator should be displayed
  5. Save the file, reopen DIAdem and start the calculator. Now it appears on the defined position.

DIAdem Versions Before 2017

For DIAdem versions prior to 2017, this can be caused by a problem with the GPI Extension. To resolve this issue:
  1. Open DIAdem and go to Settings»Extensions»GPI Extensions.
  2. Click "+" button

3. Locate and select GfSICalc.dll file from the following directory (Making sure to change "DIAdem 2017" to the version you are using):

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\DIAdem 2017

4. Confirm that you see the information below and click Close.

5. Restart the program.

Note: Starting with DIAdem 2017 a new Calculator is provided that is not defined in GFSICal.dll.
It is not recommended to do these steps for DIAdem versions 2017 and higher since you will be activating the old calculator.
