Error While Installing LabVIEW: "This Installation Package Could Not Be Opened"

Issue Details

I am trying to install LabVIEW, and I am getting the following error: "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package". 

 

Solution

This error is due to a number of reasons such as the following: 

  • Corrupted or damaged installation files.
  • No administrator rights in the computer account.
  • An antivirus blocking the installation.
  • Installing a file saved in a network and not in the local computer.
  • Windows Installer problem.
In order to solve this issue please follow these steps:
  1. Contact the IT Department and request administrator rights.
  2. Deactivate any security software installed on your computer. 
  3. Deactivate antivirus software installed on your computer. 
  4. Make sure the files are saved on the computer you want to install LabVIEW on. 
  5. Try to reinstall your National Instruments software.
