Issue Details

I am adding modules to my CompactRIO in my LabVIEW project. For the NI-9853 device, I cannot see the module in the project and see Module 1 - type not supported where the module should be.

I can add the module, but shows Error: Type Not Supported.

Solution

This is likely due to a driver communication issue with LabVIEW.
  1. Check the compatibility of the NI-CompactRIO driver with your version of LabVIEW
  2. Ensure that you followed the correct installation order for the driver install. If the driver was installed prior to LabVIEW, you can rectify this by reinstalling the correct order.
    1. For software installed through NI Package Manager (NIPM), repair the driver by uninstalling and reinstalling within NIPM.
    2. For software installed using traditional .exe methods, force reinstall the NI-CompactRIO driver to rectify this.
  3. If neither of the above steps work, completely uninstall and reinstall the LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time software and the CompactRIO drivers.
