Issue Details

  • I want to acquire measurement data with DIAdem DAC and use a NI-DAQmx driver input. In the opening window MAX Signal List I cannot see the signal I want to use. What should I do?
  • When I run a DIAdem script that uses DAQmx signals, I get the following error:

Error from DAC driver "GfSNI-DAQ""
The signal "XXXXXXX" is not defined in MAX or the device assigned to the signal is not available.

How can I fix it?

Solution

Solution 1

If you want to choose a signal in DIAdem DAC with a NI-DAQmx driver input, you have to create it in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) first.

Carry out the following steps:
  1. Open NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)
  2. Right-click NI DAQmx Global Virtual Channels under My System >> Data Neighborhood
  3. Select the option Create New NI-DAQmx Channel
  4. Configure the channel according to your requirements

Open the MAX Signal List window again (close and reopen if it is opened). You should be able to see the channel you created listed in the Available Signals (NI-DAQmx) section.

Solution 2

Another possible cause could be issues with corrupt drivers or the order in which the programs were installed. A solution could be to reinstall all relevant software's and drivers. First uninstall the software's listed below. Then make sure to install the software in the following order:
  1. Install DIAdem
  2. Install any patches
  3. Install Toolkits or Modules
  4. Install relevant Drivers, such as NI-DAQmx

Additional Information

Faulty channels are not shown in the MAX Signal List window. If a specific channel is missing, check it for any errors in the NI Measurement & Automation Explorer.
