Issue Details

When I attempt to install the software on to my cRIO, the installation fails and I get the following error:

Measurement & Automation Explorer (error window):

NI-cRIO-90xx-"Name of cRIO" - (cRIO IP address): Execution of external command, script or application failed.

This issue can be solved by implementing the following steps:

  1. Power cycle the cRIO.
  2. Verify that any firewall has been deactivated or confirm that this firewall will not block any National Instruments Software installations.
    • Please speak to your Companies IT department if you are unsure.
  3. Deactivate any Antivirus software that will block any National Instruments Software installations.
  4. Connect the cRIO to the Host PC using a different connection port (i.e. An alternative Ethernet or USB port).
  5. Format the cRIO with the new connection type.
  6. Install all of the relevant cRIO software
