NI License Manager Cannot Generate Computer ID

Issue Details

NI License Manager will not show the Computer ID. When trying to activate software, by entering in the serial number, an error occurs saying to try it again. When trying to click Enter Activation Codes, the link is broken. It says logout in the top right hand corner, but there is no account associated with it.


This behavior can point to corruption. The recommended steps to correct this are:
  1. Update NI software drivers 
  2. Force Reinstall NI products  
  3. Completely Uninstall and Reinstall NI Products
  4. Reformat the computer
Note: Only reformat the computer if all other troubleshooting steps have been exhausted. Remember to back up all necessary files before beginning.
