Error -1073807192 When Discovering Hardware in VeriStand

Issue Details

I have a cPCI-5565PIORC Reflective Memory Module installed in my PXI chassis that I want to use with VeriStand. In my VeriStand System Definition, when I run the Hardware Discovery Wizard, I get the following error:

Error -1073807192 occurred at VISA Open in HDWGEPlugins.lvlib:GE Plugin.lvlib:GENodeID.vi->HDWGEPlugins.lvlib:GE Plugin.lvlib:GE Hardware Plugin.vi:190001->Plugin Launcher.lvlib:Plugin Wrapper.vi:6500001

Possible Reason(s):
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF00A8) Access to the resource or remote machine is denied. This is due to lack of sufficient privileges for the current user or machine.

 

Solution

This is a known issue with using the Hardware Discovery Wizard in VeriStand when a cPCI-5565PIORC card is installed in the PXI chassis. To fix this issue, follow the instructions in this KB article to configure the VISA security settings to allow remote access. After that, you should be able to use the Hardware Discovery Wizard in VeriStand without issue.
