How to Transmit User Defined Data Using LTE Application Framework?

Issue Details

I am using LTE Application framework. Only data I can transmit with it is video file, which comes with LTE Application framework named, "Streaming" example.
But I want to transmit some known data, may be some text or numbers. How can I do this?

Solution

LTE Application framework example code takes data available on UDP port 50000 and transmit it over the air.
This example also receive over the air signal and decode the received signal and give decode data to UDP port 60000.
So if you want to transmit user defined data and receive it, then send the transmit data over UDP port 50000 and read data on UDP port 60000.
You can run a simple example related to this by following process as below
  1. Open example project named Simple UDP in LabVIEW communication.
  2. In Simple UDP-Sender.gvi, put Remote port as 50000. Put local port any other UDP port, other than 50000 or 60000
  3. In Simple UDP-Receiver.gvi, put receiver port as 60000
  4. Run Simple UDP-Sender VI
  5. Run LTE Application framework example. Switch on eNB Transmitter and UE Receiver
  6. Run Simple UDP-Receiver.gvi
This example transmits a random number in string datatype and receives the same.

For any application specific data transmission, you can modify UDP-Sender and UDP-Receiver gvis.
