Issue Details

I'm trying to use the Disable Special Keys option (Tools>>Options>>Security) from LabVIEW but it is not available.

How can activate it?

Solution

To use the Disable special keys option you should install the NI Keyboard Filter Driver following the steps below:

1. Consider that the NI Keyboard Filter Driver is only compatible with Windows 32-bit OS.
2. Download the Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module. The latest version is available here.

3. Open the installer and go to:

Products\LabVIEW_DSC_KeyboardFilterDriver\LVDSC.kbFilter.850
4. Open the kbFilter.msi file and complete the software installation.
5. Reboot your computer and relaunch LabVIEW.

Additional Information

If you are using LabVIEW with other OS (different from Windows 32-bit) you can programmatically disable the key using the method suggested in Programmatically Disable Functioning of a Keyboard Key in LabVIEW.
