Issue Details

I am trying to use NI SoftMotion to setup motion axis and configuration from my LabVIEW project. I can see my EtherCAT slave in my project, but it does not show up as an option for axis binding.

Solution

NI SoftMtion only supports AKD EtherCAT drive, all other drives will require a SoftMotion interface to be written. If you do not have an AKD drive or a Softmotion interface for other drives, SoftMotion will not recognise an axis in the EtherCAT XML. This forum has some good pointers on how you can do so. Selected 3rd party SoftMotion Drive Interface (SDI) Plug-in are available here.
