Issue Details

I had to reboot my computer, after some issues identifying the chassis and the MXI controller, now I am not able to rename the chassis, I get a warning everytime saying: "The input for the name is invalid". Also, I get an error when opening a Visa Test Panel, which possible reason mentions: "VISA (Hex 0xBFFF0011) Insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system".

Solution

In order to troubleshoot this issue please follow the next steps:
  1. Verify that you have installed the PXI Platform Services software on the computer.
  2. Reset MAX Database. You can find more information to perform this in: How to Fix or Reset the NI MAX Database File
  3. Force Reinstall PXI Patform Services. A guide to force reinstall can be found on: Force Reinstall Non-Working or Corrupt NI Software
  4. Move, rename, or delete the pxisys.ini and pxiesys.ini files from the C:\Windows folder and complete a power cycle by:
    1. Shutting down the PC.
    2. Shutting down the chassis.
    3. Turning on the chassis.
    4. Turning on the PC.
