Generate a SystemLink Technical Support Report

Issue Details

  • I need to get diagnostic information about my SystemLink Server to get all server logs.

Solution

SystemLink Server installs with a configuration utility that can gather the necessary files for troubleshooting.
  1. From the Windows Start menu, open the application NI SystemLink Server Configuration
    • Start >> National Instruments >> NI SystemLink Server Configuration
  2. On the Troubleshooting tab, expand the dropdown menu “Generate technical support report” 
  3. Check “Include server logs” and “Include service status” 
  4. Click Generate, this will create a Zip file with all of the Server logs information

Additional Information

For troubleshooting purposes, it is also helpful to get logs from Client machines. Logs can be found at the following locations:
  • Windows, C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\salt\var\log\salt
  • Linux RT, /var/log/salt/minion
