Why do I have to buy transceiver cables for the NI-9860?

The NI-9860 is a multi-protocol module, and needs a CAN specific or a LIN specific transceiver cable depending on the protocol you wish to use.

Other single protocol modules such as the 9862 have internal transceivers for their specific protocol (in this case the 9862 uses CAN).
