Issue Details

I want to acquire voltage data from a hydrophone using the NI 9234 and save it to a .WAV file. The hydrophone signal range is ±1.8V. Can I write the acquired voltage signal to .WAV file using the Sound Write File. vi ?

You can not write directly the acquired voltage signal to the Sound Write File. vi due to the reason that for floating-point data, the values range from -1.0 to +1.0, inclusively. The data is coerced into that range.
More information can be found on the Sound Data help reference.

The recommendation is to normalize your data using the Normalize Waveform .vi before calling the Sound Write File. vi in order to normalize the signal to ± 1V.
