Solution

To solve this issue, you need to verify that the camera file selected is correct.

  1. Verify you have the correct camera file (.icd) for your camera loaded onto the computer:
    1. To search for the camera file, navigate to <Users>\Public\Public Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\
    2. To select the correct camera file go to NI MAX >> right click the camera >> camera selection >> and select the correct camera model and file from the list
  2. If you have this issue when a custom camera file is selected in your computer, try using a default camera file provided by NI, under the same folder location. If the NI camera file works correctly, compare the custom camera file side by side with the default one, and check for possible errors in the generated file or try using the NI Camera File Generator to generate a new one.
  3. If you cannot change the camera file definition in NI MAX, and the error shows up without allowing further action, it's likely that the .iid file was edited to load the failing camera file:
    1. Navigate to <Users>\Public\Public Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\
    2. Find the corresponding .iid file
    3. Open it with a text editor and in the CameraFile section, put in the default NI camera file name
