Issue Details

I have installed National Instruments software in my computer, which I need to activate, but when I open NI License Manager, it shows blank under Product Summary, and no information under Local Licenses.

NI License Manager seems to be empty, even when I can see in NI MAX the stack of software I have installed.

Solution

This problem is likely related to a piece of software not being correctly installed. Most prominently the NI License Manager. You can try the following steps to fix this issue:

  1. Try a force reinstall of the most recent version of the NI License Manager. You can find the instructions for this step in the following document: Force Reinstall Non-Working or Corrupt NI Software
  2. Try a force reinstall of the main product you have (for example: LabVIEW, LabWindows™/CVI, TestStand, etc.). You can find the instructions for this step in the following document: Force Reinstall Non-Working or Corrupt NI Software
    1. If your software uses NI Package Manager to install, try removing the software and installing it again.
  3. Try removing all NI software from your computer and re-installing them again. More information in: Uninstall or Repair National Instruments Software or Drivers in Windows.

Additional Information

This error is likely related to the NI License Manager not having the complete information of the software installation in the system. This can happen if the NI License Manager was not installed correctly, is missing dependencies, or one of the pieces of NI software registered incorrectly. Please try the steps suggested one by one and test the NI License Manager behavior between them, before you attempt to remove all software from your machine.
