1. Security Software (Firewall / Antivirus / Windows Defender)
Security software is one of the most common causes of slow installation. It may:
- Block installer actions
- Scan each file during extraction
- Delay network communication
Recommended Actions:
- Temporarily disable the firewall during installation.
- Temporarily pause or disable third-party antivirus/firewall.
2. Windows 11 Security Features (Smart App Control)
On Windows 11, installation delays may occur because:
- Each file is verified and scanned during extraction
- Smart App Control and Defender perform additional validation checks
Recommended Actions
- Disable Smart App Control
- Note: Once disabled, Smart App Control cannot be re-enabled without a clean install or PC reset.
