Issue Details

I have come across a LabVIEW patch. It has two versions, there are 32-bit and 64-bit. Does this refer the bit version of LabVIEW itself or to the bitness of the Windows version installed?

Solution

The bitness given in the name of a patch refers to the bitness of LabVIEW itself.

E.g. the LabVIEW 2018 (32-bit) f1 Patch is meant to upgrade LabVIEW 2018 (32-bit), no matter if it is installed on a machine with Windows 32-bit or 64-bit as operating system.

Additional Information

Be aware that the operating system family matters as well - e.g. LabVIEW patches are typically available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.
