Issue Details

I connected Caspian C-39N0-160-I2C lens to NI ISC-1781 Smart Camera by following the instructions in Connecting a Lens section of NI ISC-178x Getting Started Guide. Instructions says that I should be able to communicate with lens and adjust the focal point by changing Lens Focal Position Raw attribute after restart. It also says that Lens Present attribute will indicate that a compatible lens is present. Both of those parameters are grey-out in my case event if I followed instructions step by step.

What I do wrong and how should I make my lens functional?

Solution

Caspian C-39N0-160-I2C lens communicates with Smart Camera over I2C protocol. It requires the installation of NI-VISA package to Smart Camera even if this step is not explicitly mentioned in NI ISC-178x Getting Started Guide. Use NI Measurement and Automation Explorer (NI MAX) application to install required software, restart Smart Camera and test the functionality for lens again.
