Report Generation Toolkit VIs Are Not Executable

Issue Details

• My code has a broken run arrow and the report generation toolkit VIs are showing an error that says "The subVI is not executable" like shown below.

• I am using the Report Generation Toolkit and when I open one of the Report Generation VIs that calls Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel, I see a broken run arrow in LabVIEW and a component subVI called Word_Save_Document.vi or Excel_Save_Document.vi says it is not executable.

Solution

After making sure that Microsoft Office is installed and working outside of LabVIEW. Try the following solutions:

1. Repair the installation of the Report Generation Toolkit. The following link is an article on how to repair NI software.

• Repair Software In NI Package Manager (NIPM)
• Uninstall or Repair National Instruments Software or Drivers in Windows

2. Ensure that the Report Generation Toolkit is activated and not expired by checking the NI License Manager. If it is not activated, follow the instructions in the following link to activate the toolkit.

Additional Information

The behavior can occur as the result of a low-level linkage between LabVIEW and Microsoft Office software. Installing both Microsoft Word and Excel, then repairing the installation of the Report Generation Toolkit ensures that the linkage is present.
Additionally, the Report Generation Toolkit needs to be activated to be used. If the toolkit expires, the VIs will not be executable.
