Issue Details

I found a link for a 6-month evaluation of LabVIEW Student Edition. However, when I downloaded it on my Mac computer, I recieved a notification saying the software was only valid for a month. I thought it was suppose to be valid for 6 months?

The 6-Month trial of LabVIEW Student Edition is only available on a Windows system. The evaluation version of LabVIEW that you have downloaded on your Mac computer is limited to 30 days. Therefore, the 6-Month trial version of LabVIEW Student Edition is not available on a Mac OS.

To activate the 6-Month LabVIEW Student Edition on a Mac system:
  • The recommended solution would be to dual boot your Mac computer with a Windows OS and then install the 6-Month trial of LabVIEW Student Edition on the Windows OS. You can do this by using tools such as Apple's Boot Camp Assistant. This should not affect the functionality and is recommended especially if you plan to work with hardware in the future as our hardware drivers require a Windows OS.
  • Contact your university to see if they have an Academic Volume License that will allow you to activate LabVIEW Student Edition on your Mac OS
  • Install a virtual machine with a Windows OS on your system. Then install the 6-Month trial of LabVIEW Student Edition on the Windows OS.
